Default Conv. top straps

Finally found out whats causing my top to rub a hole into itself! Damn bar isn't being pulled back due worn out straps

Related thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/848...#entry20456558

I noticed that the straps are held in with rivets, so is there an easy way to just replace the straps or am I going to need to replace the bars? Maybe Honda will help me?

I noticed my top wasnt going all the way down. Luckily that same day was an s2000 meet, so I was taught how to fix it by holding the bar. I actually got the warranty approved by honda last week to fix this. I thought they would cheap out, but they are actually going to fix it for me.

Oh wait, your car isnt under warrenty still, is it?

Nope, I have Honda Care Silver though...but I was told that Honda Care doesn't cover the top whereas the standard warranty did.

^^Correct...the only time the dealer will fix the top is if it is still under original warranty. All other warranties are limited and don't include the top. Unless you have a great relationship with the dealer or with Honda corporate, it's usually a bust to get it fixed.

I did this mod to mine a few months back. Works great and is easy to do...took all of 10 minutes or so.

I've got a quick fix for the hole too and since it's so small, it doesn't seem to leak. I'm GTG when the straps get in
