Stupid Cali front plate laws suck
here is how I did my install with no zip ties

what you need:

 

cool! but you kinda blocked your radiator... does it over heat when your pushing it hard??

 

Give the plate some JDM slant and you'll be fine in hard street driving, even in the tropics. On the track YMMV.

I'm glad someone else uses the same analogy as me about the front plate. Here is my take on it. Imagine the hottest girl you can think of. Whoever does it for you. She's gorgeous. Now as soon as she starts to smile she's got giant beaver teeth. Buzz kill!!!!

Here in HI we have the same stupid law. Never had any problems with it overheating either.
