Don't mean to thread jack, but I have a similar question. I'm looking to hit 600whp over the winter and plan on purchasing the complete full blown fuel setup with 2 FBM 340 lph pumps, new 8an lines, rail, fpr, etc. To cut costs, can I just buy the ID1000's instead of 2000's? I'll be tuning on E85. Also, does compression ratio have an effect on fuel needs due to lower CR needing higher boost? Thanks!!!
For 600whp you will need to up the fuel pressure a lot to get them to flow enough. The dual pump setup will still not want to go over 85psi. You will need a FPR and a bosch in line pump with a FB 340 in the tank and a base fuel pressure up to 100psi to make 600whp on the ID 1000's.

ID 1000's will not be good enough. You are going to need the 2000's IMO. I made 570whp on one aeromotive pump, e85, ID 2000's and stock fuel lines. There was more there but did not want to push the gtx30r to hard.

So I could just get the 2000's, swap out my current walbro 255 for a FBM 340, keep stock hanger and fuel lines, and drop in a fuel rail with FPR? Sweet! Is the new fuel rail and FPR necessary or no?

No it is not necessaary. You can leave everything stock with the 2000's and a 340 pump.

If you need a FPR, get an AEM. It can be used with the stock rail.

I think you would need a FPR. I am at 12PSI with my blower on 91 with ID1000s and walbro. I am close to maxing out the injectors because the stock FPR just can't keep the fuel pressure when im making boost.

I hit 621whp on 22psi. That is with about 80% duty cycle on ID2000s with a FB 340 and KB BAP. Stock lines and FPR. I think there is another 4-5psi left in the set up. Oh that's on a mustang dyno too.

Agreed.

I have 1000cc, fb pump and make 511whp. LJ says I could get more but I didn't want to get greedy with numbers.

So what im getting here is all you need to run e85 is 1000cc injectors at least, and a decent fuel pump such as a fb 290+...

What does gas mileage look like for most of you guys running e85? Anyone recommend to run this on a DD or not

people in ferraris and lamborghinis will still get worse mileage than you

you'll be looking at around 200 miles a tank. also remember that it is good to keep the tank half full. if they have e85 everywhere around you, then go for it.

If I make the switch Im going to use this Zeitronix flex fuel sensor...

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/ECA/ECA.shtml

It will allow me to fill with 93 octane if necessary, EMS will adjust the tune based on ethanol content. Even if I never filled on 93 it would be a good thing to have because ethanol content in E85 varies between batches.

just to throw a curve ball in there but that system says the max flow is only 200 l/h
