Default upper wishbone moving on polybushes

Im in the process of polybushing my car at the moment. Have put the 2 upper rear ones on and the wishbone appears to have moved on the bush. Basically the bush which is toward the front of the car a gap has appeared between the thicker rim of the bush that goes on the outside and the wishbone itself. Gap is probably 2mm approx. Its the same on both sides of the car. Anyone else found a similar thing happen??? Or is there something obvious thats causing this that im missing??

The polybushes are also one piece whereas the powerflex look to be a 2 piece with a full diameter outer rim on which would obviously stop this happening compared to the polybush which is all a single diameter through the middle and to the inside and can therefore potentially have the wishbone move on it.

Have tried to be as descriptive as possible but probably not made sense!! Will get a pic tommorow but basically if you think of the bushes pushed in flush to the wishbone as they should be once the wishbones then been bolted back up to the car one of the bushes has pulled away from the wishbone slightly so theres now a small gap between the wishbone and bush. If looking at it from straight on from the side of the car its the bush thats toward the front of the car that the gap is.

I fitted Powerflex bushes recently & they are ,as you said, in two pieces. There were two different thicknesses on the upper wishbones with the thinner bushes toward the centre:-

Looking at your picture its the topleft bush. Basically where you have the thicker outer part (very top left of the pic) there is a gap between the bush and the wishbone.

The polybush is one piece so slides right through, the centre been the same dia as the inner part so in theory i suppose it could move along, but shouldnt be able to as the thick part on the other bush (top right) should stop the wishbone moving.

Just doesnt seem right which is why i wondered if anyone else has found the same thing

A pic would help, but it sounds like a problem. I recently fitted the powerflex set and it is tight. I believe it should be.

In fact, I'm struggling to picture how that bush could be one piece.

What if you inserted it from the other side?

They're supposed to be fitted the way they've been put in, same as the powerflex have the wide part on the outerside. Best way to describe the 'gap' is if you hadnt quite pushed the bush in fully so the thick rim isnt quite flush to the wishbone. I'll get a pic tommorow which should explain better. The bush itself is tight in the mounting.

Are you sure you have the correct size bush?

OK, I can visualise your problem and yes, the wishbone can't move as it is tight up against the bush on the other side. But I can't see how you would have a gap. unless the s/s inserts are too long, but I'm sure you would have noticed that as they wouldn't fit between the end plates very easily.
