Default Bone stock ap2 1/4 mile times

Well I recently purchased my second s2000, it is a 2006 leguna blue pearl ap2, I got it bone stock and decided to take it to the track and see what it would do, I'm 20 years old and have never ran at the track before, although i did allot of auto x with my first s2k, and with my miata i just sold to put the down payment on my new gem lol, and the only thing I've done to my s2 is lower it so far...

My very first past was my best pass, 14.240 @ 98 mph, I launched it at about 6k rpm, no burnout, she spun for a lil and died and then snatched off...
I then ran 14.5's 3 times in a row, dying off the line or spinning way to much, all three runs at 96-97 mph...
My 5th and 6th runs were 14.3 pass's one at 96 mph and the other at 98 mph...
My last run I decided to take off the cover on the stock intake to maybe get more air, I had noticed a check engine light when I turned on the car and didn't think much of it, I think that was my best launch of the night, at about 6500 rpm, yet I still ran a 14.5 @ 96 mph...
All in all I think it was pretty successful, I read car and driver putting the s2 at 14.4 with pro drivers, I know their info is misleading but still gave me some bragging rights.... Lol
Oh and also I'm in south Florida and it was 91 degrees F out side all day and dropped to 88 degrees F when it got dark...

I would like to know the times you guys are or did get out of your stock ap1's and ap2's, highest mph's, and 60 foots, I feel like with a nice clutch and colder weather I could definitely break 13's... Thanks for reading

Removing the airbox causes a loss in power.

The magazine times for the S2000 that I always saw were 14.0-14.2 @ 97-100mph but you'd have to just not care about the differential to pull a time like that.

Your first pass being the best is likely due to heat soak. It really shows in the trap speeds and my car was the same way--consistently about 2-3mph slower after the first run. Search for "intake manifold gasket" and you'll find more info + a "fix" of sorts.

Mid to low 14's is the norm. lowest time I've seen stock was 13.9xx

Btw, those "professional" drivers from Car & Driver don't know how to launch an S, that's why they get such shitty times. U gotta rev the crap out of the car and drop it hard at 7k rpms, the diff suffers greatly, though.

You find out what the CEL was for and did it go away/clear?

Keep in mind, while the times are decent the car was built for curves not drags. Real racers can take turns

Yea very true on the turns, I use to auto x my first s2k and my miata, I like that better then drag, but I'm looking more into going on boost with my current s2k and getting some sick ass times for stock motor and tranny, my ap1 had Brian crower stage 2 all motor drop in cams, intake header and exhaust, 4.55 final drive and it was tuned with the aem fic piggy back, that one was way faster then my current stock ap2 ofcourse, but I have yet to lose against a stock ap1, being as that there was 2 at the track last night, and my 2 buddys have ap1's and we have goofed around in forgotten un populated streets....

And 13.9 is awesome, with just a intake, what was the tempature outside when you ran that time? And what size tires? Street or drag radials?
