Default K&N FIPK Install

I'm 1,500 miles away from hitting 200k on my 02 S2K.

The elbow from the stock air box started developing cracks so I made the first mod to my car. Amazon had the best price at ($211 before they started taxing TX). I'm pretty happy with the results.

Drove to work today and got a CEL I guess I need to check my Vacuum lines. I'll use this for reference.

Yes I know my engine bay needs to be cleaned. Gonna do that this weekend.

CHEERS!

Indeed, it's hard to keep it clean when it's been my DD for the last 8 years haha.

I really like the way it sounds and looks. It's not JDM approved but for $211... how can a guy go wrong?

After viewing all the reviews about this intake. The installation wasn't hard and the instructions were more than decent for a guy who knows how to use tools and his way around car engines.

Just as a note, you're missing the clamp around the tube and tube support, and are missing the rubber seal to minimize heat soak. Otherwise, looks good!

Hahah! Thanks.

I installed it after the photo was taken even though the K&N instructions wanted me to do it ahead of time.

Hopefully I get the CEL cleared up tonight. Hoses everywhere, I should've taken better note of their location.

Yeah the vaccum lines are a bitch. I had to mark them before removing them for the extended ones.. Just reset your ecu and it'll clear.

CEL cleared.

I had lines 8 and 6 on the diagram reversed.

Was scrolling down to post about your CEL, but I see you got it figured out. I had the same problem after installing my FIPK a month ago. Reversed the lines and didn't even have to the clear the CEL; it went off by itself after a few miles. The instructions they send are sort of confusing with regard to those two lines, so it's a pretty common mistake.

I also ordered mine from Amazon for the same price. Great little mod, isn't it?

Yes sir, not bad for a little over $200.00.

I had a EG with B18C back in the day and told myself I would leave this car a "virgin" mod free well close to 200k and I think I've got the bug to mod it out now. Most likely going to pick up another DD now that I have the resources.

I told myself "I'll remember where this goes" when I was removing everything from the OE lines. NOT!

We have some good people and a lot knowledge on these forums. :-)
