It should be tight, definitely not loose.

I am curious of this too. A local guy had his screw come completely out. What does the screw do.

well throught some research it seems to me the "fuel pulsation damper screw" some claim to be a adjustable from factory , and some say its non adjustable the service manual says nothing about it!? anyways as an update: i screw it in all the way doesn't see to have an effect,

it obviously holds an internal part in place, it definitely is not adjustable though, not sure what happens if you leave the screw out but it makes sense to keep it in place as designed.

Mine fell out too not to long ago, I noticed it but it didn't bother me because my car felt the same, I've always wondered too what it was for. Anyone really know?

UPDATE:
i'm not completely sure how ever i might've fixed it..
So alittle about the past of this car, it was once supercharged paxton 1000 comptech kit, i got it when it was removed. exploring around i found a ECM comptech wired to the ecu (hide boost ) thought to myself MAYBE its defective, i drove it for 1 year without problems, so i removed it car doesn't turn off randomly however when i neutral it from a gear the rpms always dip down.

The screw does nothing, strangely. It vibrated out of my first S and I never replaced it for 120k+ miles and never had a single issue ..
