Default OXBURGH HALL (NORFOLK) & ANGLESEY ABBEY (CAMBS) - Sat 10th August *

Oxburgh Hall & Anglesey Abbey - aka "Norfolk Nod V"

Date: Saturday 10th August 2013
Cost: FREE for those who are S2KUK members AND National Trust members
Non S2KUK members will need £5.00 for car parking at Oxburgh Hall
Non National Trust members will need an optional £3.00 to enter Oxburgh and £11.00ish for Anglessey Abbey.

I have managed to book us in to both venues on the same day (twas not easy!).
Oxburgh Hall have agreed that we will be parking the cars in front of the hall (for a possible 2014 calendar pic).
Anglesey Abbey have us parked up in the coach parking area (away from the main car park).

The plan I have is:

Starting at:
9:45am
Oxburgh Hall (clicky link)
near Swaffham, PE33 9PS

Meet in the main car park before 10:00am and then move to park in front of the hall at 10:00am.
There is only room for 20 cars so priorty will be given to those first 20 cars on the list below who turn up BEFORE 10am.
Anyone turning up after 11:00am will certainly miss the chance to park in front of the hall as the venue opens at 11am and we cannot add cars after this time.
Please call my mobile if you turn up at the main car park and find out that we have already moved to park in front of the hall.

NB: The hall then opens to the public at 11:00am. This gives us plenty of time for photos without the public wandering around.

We will stay here for a couple of hours (enough time for a quick look around)

S2KUK will be paying for the car parking for S2KUK members.
Non S2KUK members (including those NT members) will be asked for a £5 car park charge.

There is also a small extra charge (£3.00ish) for entrance into the Hall if required (This is FREE for NT members!)

NB: So please bring your S2KUK and NT membership cards

I will need to collect this money from you when you arrive so I can pay in one transaction.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^ 20 cars parked here!

Then:
Leave Oxburgh Hall at 12:00pm and drive to Anglesey Abbey (see post 3 for driving instructions)

Ending at:
Anglesey Abbey (clicky link)
Quy Road, Lode, Cambridge, CB25 9EJ

Plan to arrive here at 1:30pm

Parking in the Coach Parking area (away from the main car park)
Prices: £6.35 for Gardens Only and £10.40 for House and Gardens (National Trust members ARE FREE !)
Again, I will need to collect this money from you when we arrive so I can pay in one transaction.

OPTIONAL Evening Meal:
The Old Crown (clicky link)
89 High Street, Girton, Cambridge CB3 0QD

I have a table booked for 10-20 poeple. Please let me know if you want a table for an evening meal. Last date for booking a table will be 12:00pm on Monday 5th August as I must give numbers by then.

Final bits and peices:

Also please can we make it S2000's only for the parking in front of the hall, etc.
People are more than welcome to come along in another make/model of car and park in the main car park.

Minvo !

I thought it might attract a few people from the Midlands by having the meet a bit further west.
Two cracking venues though so with the weather on our side should be a good day out.

PM Sent too...

I can now confirm that both venues are booked (booking forms sent, etc)
I have updated the first post with prices...

Oxburgh Hall are charging £70.00 entrance for our car club.
I think the best way round this is to ask for £5.00 from each person (this includes NT members).
If we get 14 people then we have enough money - any less then I will make up the difference - any more will be a donation to NT.
I'm sure we can all sort this out on the day... and it wil be WELL worth it.

Anglesey Abbey is completely free for NT members but from £6.35 for non-members.

Kind regards
