DBRXI and Fall Crawl 2011 – Have you registered yet?
As much as local meets and drives are fun, there is a whole other level of fun that can be had by participating in pan-regional events. The S2000 Meets and Events section plays host to several events, both regional and across regions. For those interested, there currently are two pan-regional events scheduled for next month that are still registering participants. Do not hesitate and register right away if you want to experience a multiple-day event that will have S2000 owners from different geographic locations gather together for a great time. The infamous Dragon Ball Run 2011 (DBRXI) is scheduled for September 16th-18th on the Tail of the Dragon and the equally fun Third Annual Fall Crawl 2011 is scheduled for the September 30th-October 2nd weekend in historic Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
Dragon Ball Run 2011
Registration for this event is set to close on August 28th at 11:55 AM. This event will feature registration and orientation on Friday followed by the official Dragon Ball Run on the Tail of the Dragon on Saturday. Saturday evening will feature a banquet-style dinner for all participants along with a recap of the days’ events and possibly a presentation. Registration includes a lanyard with a name tag plus dinner. Attendees may also order a DBRXI T-Shirt at an extra charge. If you have always wanted to drive your S2000 on the Dragon, this could be the perfect opportunity to do so as you would be in the company of several veteran Dragon slayers.
Third Annual Fall Crawl 2011
This feature event, organized by the New England S2000 Owner group, is now in its third year. As the title suggests, this event is scheduled to coincide with the arrival of fall in the New England area and, by virtue of its timing, this event is both scenic and spirited. Registration is scheduled for Friday afternoon into late evening with the main events scheduled on Saturday. Saturday’s events include a drivers meeting, followed by the main drive event. The day’s events will be capped by a brewery tour at one of the region’s finest micro-breweries followed by a banquet-style dinner and an after-dinner social at the host hotel bar.
Events such as these are not only fun, but also opportunities to build bridges within the community and great socializing experiences. These events are as much about man-machine bonding as they are about human interaction. We wish both of these events continued success and hope they receive continued support from the community in terms of participation. Just as much as the people and the cars matter, such events too will come to shape the legend of the S2000.
