We finished 23rd out of 96 cars in the race. I got to race one 2 hour stint each day with the only issue being a bullshit black flag for passing under yellow on Saturday. I waited till I was past the disabled car to begin the pass, but the corner workers didn't see it the way I did.

2016 Global Time Attack NOLA Motorsports Park
So the plan was simple. Tony Fuentes needed a car to score points in Limited RWD at the two Eastern Global Time Attack events. I offered to let him use my car. Road Atlanta went well other than a slipping clutch that cost us the win, but 2nd place was still a good showing losing by a couple tenths to a lightweight LS powered 240SX. The NOLA event came around and the plan was the same. He would use my super reliable S2000 with a now upgraded clutch in RWD Limited on the same 275/35/17 Maxxis RC-1 tires.
That plan was going great. The car was ready to go and class legal in Limited RWD. Then Tony tried to tech the Solo Motorsports Atlanta BMW 135i that he was planning to drive in Street RWD. It was a beast with a fresh new Borg Warner turbo setup and some 285 width Bridgestone RE71R "Hoosierstones". Well, it didn't go well. Turns out the rules say you have to have the OEM carpet in the front and that was probably long ago thrown in the trash bin back in Atlanta. Tony turns to me and says, "Hey Chris, can we run your car in Street instead." I said, "Sure, it still has carpet and functioning radio and A/C."
The problem was that I didn't bring any street tires. The 135i could run RWD Limited on the RE71Rs no issues, but we couldn't run my S2000 in Street RWD without a 200TW tire. So the search began. It turns out almost every Global Time Attack car runs 18" wheels not to mention the fact that the super high S2000 offset means you really have to have wheels meant for an S2000 especially with an OEM body and running wide tires. My buddy Shaun running an Evo in Limited AWD but running 17" Rival S tires was willing to let us borrow them for a single session on Sunday, but I wanted the car to put in a good showing. No tire shop anywhere close had any kind of 200TW tire for sale. We found a well used set of RE71Rs for sale a few hours away.
In the end, the best option was for me to drive 4 hours home and then 4 hours back to NOLA with my set of 17x9.5 +50 Volk CE28Ns and 255/40/17 Hankook RS3v2s. They were fairly old as I bought them for street tires on my LBP S2000, but they only had one track day at Gingerman on them so heat cycles were low. So we left at around noon and made the drive to get the tires, and got back to the hotel around 9pm that night. The next day we threw them on and Tony ran three sessions with his best lap being in Session 2 once temps had already gotten a little warm. Turns out letting the drifters drift the high speed esses before sending out the Global Time Attack cars for the third session was not a great idea.
The results were an easy win in Street RWD with a 1:52.7 laptime. I know on a fresh set of 255 RE71Rs that laptime could have been in the 49s, and if we had kept the car in Limited RWD on the RC1s, I think that laptime could have been in the 49s as well as I think the two tires are similar even with 20mm extra width on the RC1s. The video shows how much Tony had to wheel the car to put down that laptime. The car was way undertired for the amount of power that we brought.

Man that looks like fun Tut. Definitely a handful. With your big wing I wondered if your car tends to push at all, but with all that power you can just give it some throttle and it's easy to get rotation.
