DRZ-400 SM
Coming from riding sport bikes for 8 years, this bike is so different and soo fun. Currently my other bike is a heavy pig Hayabusa, which is a complete opposite of this bike. I love having the ability to goof around on this bike and not have to put in much effort into riding. Its toss-able, I have yet to meet a curb I couldnt go over to get to my destination, wheelies! Makes even a 25mph speed limit fun, the sound of a single cylinder is awesome. My biggest "complaint" is the lack of 6th gear, this bike has the power to use it, yet doesn't have a highway gear. I think at 65mph I'm at like 5100rpm.
Goal is to get to some sumo tracks next year and do some track riding

I ride an SM on the street also. A KTM 250 2 stroke. Agreed it doesn't really get any more fun than this on 2 wheels. The bike weighs 248lb with a full tank of gas and makes over 60hp - 53whp to be exact) I'd recommend re gearing the bike if you feel its revving to high on the freeway, its an easy thing to change. My bike is also a 5 speed and a 6 would be nice. I run a 14T/42T which for my bike is a good compromise between freeway speeds and optimum acceleration for its output and weight. The bike tops out at 100-105mph at redline 9000rpm. Its a high enough ceiling where I can cruise at 65-75mph all day and still have enough left to pass quickly without doing insane speeds. I could gear higher, but again I feel this spread is pretty optimum for my bike.

I have a klx 400 which is the same as drz400. It's a great bike other than missing 6th gear as you said. I take mine adventure riding and the vibration at highway speeds can be torturing but it's still fun. Did you do any performance mods?

As far as other mods, I did the full 17" wheel/ street tire conversion with larger brake rotor up front and then some DOT lighting/ small turn signals and mirrors. Its funny, because the bike essentially looks/sounds like a works motocross bike with a few road trimmings.
