Just replaced my spark plugs (@ 110,000 miles ), and I noticed the plugs I pulled out are NGK PFR7G-11S and the ones I ordered from majestic honda are PFR7G-11 without the "S" on the end...

is there any difference between these 2 sets of plugs? Aside from the missing "S" on the end, and the obvious wear and tear the originals have seen, I can't really tell a difference.

Stainless steel washer on the "S" designated plugs. The "S" plugs were used after a recall was made for the older plugs. IIRC the torque value was also changed for the plugs but I can't remember the exact number.

Did more searching, here's the update bulletin for the "S" designated plugs. Looks like your car already had the service performed at some point due to the 11S plugs already being in the car.

The tip on the new plug looks really thin to me? I thought the PFR7G-11S had a fatter, more rounded tip?

i'll take your old plugs if ya don't want them.

i dunno why they allow people to purchase the non "s" when I see no viable reason why people would choose it.

the new plug is just the 11...not the 11S.

I'm gonna hold onto my old plugs until I change these new "11" plugs out with some new "11S" plugs, just in case I have any problems.

I did notice the car ran significantly better with the new plugs.

So is the current spec is still the s-variant? That is what the PDF states. I would assume that the electrode change is simply the standard redesign to the rare metal tips.

Yes, the 11S plugs are the current spec from 2002.5 to present. I'm also beginning to think that they changed the design of the tip but kept the model numbers the same? Maybe the OP can post another picture of the 11S plugs when he gets them to verify if the tip has been changed?

In any case, I doubt it matters as NGK kept the part numbers the same.

I'll post pics of the new 11S plugs when I get a set, probably within the week. I've got a autocross this weekend, and I don't feel like dealing with loosening plugs or misfires.

The 'S' Plugs have a PLATINUM tip and are pre gapped. The FSM say NOT TO adjust the tip may become damaged.

So the difference ins Platinum Tip and Stainless Steel Ring.
