just got my calipers back from the machine shop. to mill down 5mm from the ears and to install the TimeSerts costed me about 160 for both which is $80 per Caliper.

This is how much material is left after milling down the mounting ears.

which brake rotors will you be going with?

Anyone know how can I take off the hex screw where I then can install my speed bleeder. I'm having the hardest time removing the hex screw to put in my speed bleeder.

just tried to tackle this today with 97 nsx rotors and they did not fit. when everything was buttoned up, the rotor was coming in contact with the inside of the caliper. i am just going to use new s2000 rotors..

Is there a real advantage to the NSX rotor over the S2k? I am looking to do this and the S2k rotor has a slightly larger diameter, but is 3mm thinner. Is the reasoning due to the extra width and therefore extra cooling? On top of this those rotors are 3x the cost of S2k rotors. So unless someone can convince me of a reason to NOT use the S2k rotors I think I will go that route.

Could someone please confirm exactly what needs taken off of the caliper to fit the NSX rotors. It seems the OP indicates ~4mm then later 5mm, someone above said they went 5mm, but rubbed the INSIDE of the caliper which to me seems not enough was removed, but they then went to the S2000 rotor, which wouldnt make sense to me as if I am doing the math correct should be 1.xxmm more inboard

Hey integlspwr, really sorry to hear about them not fitting. They may have shaved a bit too much off the caliper. I had originally brought the rotor, disc, caliper and knuckle to the shop and had them play around with it to make it fit. I had put in 5mm due to the difference in the rotor hats between the the two.

There are no advantages between the two. They can also be bought at the same price. All the hardcore racing guys use cheap rotors and so have I and haven't had any issues with them.
