Default Can You Replace Your BOV With A BPV?

One question is what the title says. If you get a turbo kit, can you just replace the BOV with a BPV and plumb to the exhasut manifold? I was thinking since the S2000 has a MAP sensor this would also put into account the air that has been bypassed.

I haven't gotten a staright answer on this. I have one more question and I'll post that when I remember it.

Probably should mention, anti-lag system to be exact. Cold intake air mixing with fuel from the engine when the throttle body is closed and igniting in the exhaust manifold to keep the turbo spinning.

Your in the right track my friend but there are a few other bits needed to make a secondary air injection system work correctly. Of course you also need to be sure and use an ecu that gives you enough control/supports rally style als.

Thanks for the reply! But I was thinking... If you do have it set up like a normal blow off valve (opening when the air pressure reaches a set level), such as when you're going around a corner, the throttle body will be closed and a very rich mixture of fuel will be coming out the the engine. Charged air will be reaching higher levels (throttle body closed) activating the bypass valve. By injecting air only when these conditions are reached, could you manage an ALS setup without any ECU help? Because it would only "activate" when the throttle body is closed and charged air pressure is above your set level.

when the throttle is closed the ecu will normally be on a fuel cut during deceleration not to mention to get the raw fuel into the exhaust you would also need to cut ignition. The exhaust back pressure will over power the compressor pressure at some points so you need to ensure the system doesn't end up flowing backwards as well.

there are some tried and true kits out there already that cover the hardware side of things, the rest needs to be addressed while tuning** Secondary air injection anti lag kit

Oh, okay. Now that you say that it makes sense. I actually went over to the Brewed Motorsports page and found it quite informative.

Could you run ALS on a street car reliably? It has to be tuned right obviously...

Ya you can get away with setting up ALS on switch in order to use it only when wanted. (NOT safe to try and drive in traffic of any sort!)
