I agree piston to cylinder wall is extremely important, ring end gap, no so much. You aren't going to get "piston slap" and damage a piston with rings that are opened up a bit more.
i agree but important to consider as the top 2 rings get looser the engine will experience more blow by/crank case pressure it also adds a bit more stress to the oil ring/s nothing major but imo ring gap is still an extremely important clearance to consider (not too tight or loose) depending on what the engine will be used for.
