Bumped Ignition Switch Off with Knee During Braking
#21
My leg is never near the keyswitch. I agree with those saying to move the seat back. An aftermarket steering wheel and spacers would probably help you greatly, but only recommended if you have a fixed back seat and harness.
As far as braking, after going from staggered to square 255 RS3s I think the rear has too much braking bias. The rear end squirms around a lot in heavy braking zones.
Supposedly the Stoptech BBK shifts the braking bias slightly forward, so that could be helping those of you who have it.

Here is what I ended up doing to solve this problem because it happened a few more times after I created this post.
See this thread at well:

- I bought an eBay key w/ transpoder (this one, $8)
- Got it cut at a Honda dealership (free)
- Got key programmed at automotive locksmith ($35)
- Make the key as small as possible by removing as much of the key body as possible
- Glued "H" badge on the side of the key with the screws

Good job. I guess that's a much better solution than trimming your leg off and sanding it down...

I had this happen while driving Dysen's car on my first hot lap mid corner. I had to make a conscious effort every lap to ensure that my leg wouldn't shut the car off. Not a great formula for going fast.

Its happened to me once while drifting and tbh it scared the hell out of me. I seriously thought the motor was toast.
Having since installed buckets and harnesses, i doubt it'll ever happen again.
