Default S2000 vs. Late 90's/Early 00's Carrera Vert

Or did I just hang/pull a hair on a Carrera?

I was making my way back home from visiting with my folks, doing 10 over with the cruise set in the right lane when some guy in his late 20's/early 30's passes me doing at least 80/85. I think wow someone's in a hurry and think nothing of it. A little further down the road I can see that this guy is starting to slow down a bit and I begin to catch up to him. Well right when I get to his rear bumper he drops the hammer and takes off. I just shook my head and keep on about my business. He slows up again and again I begin to pass him, you guessed it...he takes off again. This time I was like well let's see how bad he kills me. I catch up to him still in 6th. This time he doesn't even let me get with 2-3 lengths before he skoots. I am blocked in by traffic and wait patiently for the opportunity to catch up to him again. This time I am ready I drop to 4th right under 6k and creep up on his side, he looked over with a $hit eating grin and we both nailed it.
I started at his door and was starting to pull slowly as I shifted to 5th. I looked down at the speedo and realized that I was earning a ticket that I really didn't need, figured I had made my point and let off. The look on his face was priceless.

FYI: My top was up, his was down.

I need to know whether this guy was just yanking my chain or if I really beat this guy....

The only markings I saw were Carrera...no S's, obviously no "turbo" or anything else.

It's believable. Especially since we don't know the year of the Carrera, and we assume it was a base model, and was cabriolet with top down, and you might have caught him slightly unawares and not geared terrifically. Numbers for S and base 911 cab not so dramatically different that your experience couldn't happen. Short answer - doesn't sound like chain yanking.

Very believable because Cabriolets are heavier, and his top was down too. A few others on here have also run them.

lol nice. I like how you wanted to see how bad you would get beat lol I only pick races though which I know there is a fair chance of winning or losing on the freeway but not something like a lambo

My S is completely stock, aside from tinted windows. I've only had it for 3 months....and it is my first standard! Needless to say I am a fast learner. The first thing I did after break-in was to attend a driving school. I learned more in that short time than I had in 10+ years of driving. The mods are coming in time.
My work consumes A LOT of my time. I plan to get an intake, OEM front lip & spoiler and maybe replace a few pieces with CF. I am taking my time with the car. I want to drive it more and decide what I think it needs.

I've beat 2 Carreras from rolls. One top up and one top down. The guy who had his top down was in front of me getting off the highway, and we both punched it on the exit ramp. I passed him pretty handily, but it was an auto.
