I am the original owner of a 2004, it has 79,000 miles. Valve adjustment is not mandatory but if you start out right then you will know what has been done.
I would also change all filters, include cabin filter, or at least check them, oil service, fluids in dff, trans, brake, coolant change, fan belt.
I have not had anything wear out yet, but the timing chain tensioner can be noisy if it's going out....assuredly the clutch is good and so are the brakes.
after checking or replacing all of that you will start fresh, after this it's fluids and filters after that...its a great car.
I have mich pilot sports on all 4 wheels, i would buy them again, you can go cheaper but these tires are the best in all weather. I went to tire rack for brake parts. I don't believe drilled or slotted rotors help, but good pads do. I have original brake lines and probably stainless steel lines are an upgrade. I have stock suspension and would stay with that, it's my belief honda spent allot of time and money tweaking this car so why spoil that...and i think 04-05 are best years, just my opinion, not fact.
tires seem to go two rear sets to one front. top can wear, so the modfry strap kit is a must every few years. interior things wear since it is a honda built for a price...i love this car and do all my own work since new! mine is stock.
enjoy.
