Clutch no worky
2001 ap1 with 166k. New Exedy clutch at 115k.
I pushed my clutch pedal down and it slammed to the floor, rendering me clutchless. I limped it to a brewery and had a beer while I waited for AAA. The clutch master cylinder was empty and there was fluid leaking out from where the piston goes in. Replaced the master (1 beer job) and bled the system. After bleeding, first pump went to the floor, second pump, the clutch pedal felt like a brake pedal. Got under the S and saw that the fork had bottomed out. Pulled the slave and repositioned the fork and the same thing happened after 2 pumps. My thinking is that the back plate on the throwout bearing broke off. I looked in with a flashlight and really can't see shit. The fork arms look intact. Anyone else experience this? $700 to pull the tranny. Doesn't look like a job I can do in the driveway.

If you broke the fork pivot bracket, it can be replaced without pulling the transmission.
Very possible the Exedy bearing fell apart also. Get in there with a bright pen light and see which it is.

I believe the pivot bracket is intact. Once the fork is fully depressed and stuck there, I can pull it out of the cup on the bracket and reinsert the fork in it's engaged position. When I put a cheater bar on the end of the fork and push to disengage the clutch, there's some resistance and then it gives and goes to the fully disengaged position and stays there but the clutch is still engaged. I hope that makes sense.
I was in there with a small flashlight and really can't see jack. My mechanics mirror is too big to be of any use.
