I've got filthy pictures...wanna see???
Just look at this filth!!!
These pics are of the interior cabin (air conditioning) filter for our S2000. This particular filter has approximately 40K miles on it if I'm not mistaken. I've taken these pics to post this thread for my buddy Rick (aka, hubby of BlackBeauty). I'll allow him the opportunity to speak on accessibility of this filter for replacement and such. Pricey little filter if I'm not mistaken...seems when I'd last checked with my local Honda parts dealer it was in the $45 or so dollar range.
Probably not a performance improvement by changing out this filter, but uggggh!...just think of the strain you're A/C motor is going through filtering with such a nasty filter . Add to that, that once its getting this nasty, just what kind of air are *you* breathing during the winter months while the top is up (and yes...I'm speaking to us unfortunate souls that have to deal with cold weather in the winter).

The filter should be replaced at least every 30,000 miles, but every 15,000 miles for dusty or sooty conditions (which sounds like city driving).
I picked up a spare from HandA. The list price is $40.12, and the HandA price is $25.12. Not bad!

I just checked out www.handaaccessories.com. Decent prices but I'm going to ask my local dealer to match their price. Save a little on the shipping, maybe. Then, of course, I'm stuck with a 7% sales tax. Damn it all.

I just changed my filter yesterday morning and with only 16k miles on the clock it was worse than that. I could not believe how much dirt was stuck in each fold. Being in a dusty area I guess I should have expected it to be quite dirty.

Hey Dave thanks for putting on the show and tell.
This filter is probably over looked by many people just as much as servicing the transmission or rear end. In fact when I asked The parts guy at Hall Stateline Honda for a new one he told me that the car does not have this filter and the reference to it in the service manual was a mistake. (page 21-42)
As far as changing it goes it is very easy, even airgate could do it by himself (Kidding Raul) it is located under the cowl cover just above the battery.
This is a 15 minute job. So do it yourself and save the hour labor charge at the dealer.
