Take it to a dealer or borrow a scan tool and get the codes. Then it will shed some light as to what it can be. My guess is that something came loose a sensor or something like that. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do directly with Vtec either. I could be as simple as a temp sensor or something like that. My guess is that it's not a big deal and can easily be fixed.

Just thought I'd restate xviper's point above... Just in case he decides to read the first stuff (and head out the door towards his fuse box) before the post finishes loading on-screen and he has a chance to read this excellent point.

I used to wash my engine every time I washed my car. However, one time I started my car after spraying it, and it would just barely run. The car limped home, and I found that my dristributor cap had cracked (due to the dramatic heat change). I replaced it, and it was better (not all the way better, just mostly better). The car was never the same. I drove that car for another 90K miles, and I never could figure out what the deal was. About every 50 miles, it would have this sudden loss of power that felt like the A/C compressor turning on, even when the A/C was turned off. Since then, I have just maintained a dirty engine.
