This should be fun

Coming from SpeedHunters is this bat scat crazy stripped down car that has a whole boatload of parts including some handmade ones. Forest Koogle of KoogleWerks reached out to SH about the TR6 with just a couple photos and an elevator pitch of what the car could be to entice them. Suffice to say it worked.

That doesn't seem to weigh a whole lot

The TR6, still in the midst of being worked on, sports entirely custom fenders and flares made from fiberglass all around the car. The box is totally custom and trellis tube frame means that this thing is very very light and nimble on its feet. The wheels are 17-inch three-piece CCW Classic wrapped in low profile tires on a slammed chassis.

Lighter engine and a slew of parts

When Forrest first got his hands on the Triumph, the car had a V8 swap with badly installed suspension from a Corvette that worked opposite from the way it should have. So out went the generic V8 and in went, an F20C with Darton sleeves, a Brian Crower 2.3-liter stroker bottom end, CNC ported head, 1,700 cc injectors, an Accusump oiling system, AEM engine management, and a Garrett GTX3576R turbo.

British Japanese alliance

Forrest then mated NC Miata subframes in the front and rear to the tube frame chassis. As a matter of fact, all of the geometry, as well as physical components such as the control arms, manual rack, and pinion box, are right off of the MX-5.

For stopping power, calipers and rotors from an RX-8 were used with Wilwood pedals and master cylinders. Custom-built coilovers and Hotchkis sway bars along with an OS Giken Super Lock LSD round out the suspension mods.

Git gud

The owner of the Triumph, Cameron Clark, went and bought a Miata while the TR6 is being built so that he can hone his driving skills before receiving this creation. Hopefully, when the car is finished, SH will come back to check it out so that we can get a look at this Frankenstein of a racer.
