Living the Dream

Aside from your typical build threads, we see a lot of S2Ki members chronicle the many journeys they take in their cars posted here in the forums. Which makes sense, as we simply like to drive our cars as Honda intended. But rarely do we see these adventures captured so beautifully on film as member 1993 did with his personal dream car, a Sebring Silver AP2, in this particular thread.

Short Term Goals

When he first obtained the car, it had 147k miles on the clock but was still going strong. Regardless, the OP's first priority was still performing all the general maintenance you'd expect. At the time, he really didn't have any end goals in mind, outside of making the car reliable for both street and occasional track duty.

Back to OEM

The first move, however, was to simply replace the car's muffler-deleted exhaust with an OEM setup. He also removed the AEM cold-air intake and reinstalled the stock piece. Along the way, 1993 also replaced some missing exhaust hanger bushings and the exhaust pipe gasket and installed clear side markers and an OEM fuel filler cap.

Slew of Upgrades

1993 kept up the pace by replacing a slew of goodies, including the windshield washer fluid reservoir cap, the cabin air filter, VTEC solenoid gaskets, shift lever flange nut, PCV tube, rear hood seal, serpentine belt, battery. He also adjusted the clutch and throttle pedals to eliminate the sloppy, worn feeling they had accumulated over the years.

Wrapping Up

Next up was the usual engine oil and manual transmission fluid change, along with swapping out the front tires so they matched the rears. After alignment, the AP2 was tracking straight again. At this point, the car was driving well enough again that 1993 did exactly that, and he found the experience to be quite rewarding.

And More

Regardless, it wasn't long before 1993 started changing out more components. That includes the front wheel studs and front wheel bearings, a Koyorad radiator, new hoses, as well as the brake pads, rotors, and lines. He also bled the brake fluid, of course.

Not Done

At this point, it'd be easy to say that 1993 is pretty much wrapped up with his project. But that likely is far from the case, in reality. So be sure and head over here to stay tuned for future updates, as well as check out all the great pics he's uploaded of his beautiful car!
