This Pristine S2000 Club Racer Just Made History
It was the second most expensive S2000 ever sold on Bring a Trailer.
One for the Books
Anyone that's been paying attention to the automotive market over the past couple of years is well aware of the fact that the price of pretty much everything has increased significantly over that time period. However, the venerable Honda S2000 stands above much of that pack, gaining value at a rapid pace. This is particularly true of not only super low-mile examples but also the rarer, more coveted Club Racer variant, which has been selling for some eye-popping figures recently. However, this 6k-mile example that recently sold at Bring a Trailer managed to earn its place in the history books.

Second Place
After hammering for a whopping $125,000, this S2000 CR now holds the distinction of being the second most expensive S2000 of any kind ever sold on the popular auction site. It couldn't quite reach the incredible $200k that IndyCar driver Graham Rahal's 123-mile CR sold for back in April, but it's still a rather impressive sum by anyone's measure.

Getting Around
As most are well aware, around 700 examples of the S2000 Club Racer were produced for the U.S., and this one is finished in the attractive shade dubbed Apex Blue Pearl. It was originally sold at McGrath City Honda in Chicago, Illinois, and it lived in Manitoba, Canada for some time until it was acquired by the current owner and moved to Florida in May 2019.

Pristine Cabin
The previous owner applied clear paint-protection film to the front nose and mirror caps to protect them from rock chips and various hazards, but otherwise, this is just an honest, bone-stock, pristine example of the ultimate S2000. That much is certainly evident from the flawless interior, which is finished in black Alcantara with yellow inserts and stitching.

Cleanest of the Clean
The engine bay is also clean enough to cook on, and if one didn't know any better, you'd think you were looking at a brand-new car here. It's hard to believe that this car has 6k miles, but then again, it's likely never seen a dirt road or any kind of inclement weather in its lifetime.

Zero Flaws
There are zero flaws mentioned in this particular auction listing, which is a true rarity. It's completely common and acceptable for a car with any kind of mileage to have - at the very least - a scratch or two, but that just isn't the case here.

Going Up
Throw in the fact that the photos the seller-provided of this car are truly stunning, and it's really no surprise that it sold for such a substantial sum of money. But if the market continues rising the way it has for years now, the buyer may wind up making a profit if they decide to part ways with it down the road.
