Anyone ever try this metal replacement yet? Any reviews?

Looks cool, not sure if $57 worth of cool... and unless you hammer your shifter into gears you probably wont know its there but still cool. (i suspect its one of those "placebo" mods ..kinda like braided SS clutch line)

Wow, made of straight moly? That's intense.

It is actually a Moly based coating. As far as it being a placebo affect, its hard to argue the difference in how a shifter feels with a new plastic collar piece versus the older one. With it being made of metal instead, this should last much longer, and maybe even give a more solid feel. But that is why I am asking if anyone has tried it.

I did crack my stock one...I was putting a new one in and it cracked. Could be a good time to try this, seems a bit overkill though.

I've heard of people soaking it on hot water to expand a little before removing/installing it.

Soaking it in hot water definitely helps a lot!

I might looking into making these if I have time and enough interest.
