Other than being much shorter I like it a lot. I bought mine from a fellow member here but it needed to be repaired. For some reason the urethane filling leaked out a bit. I sent it back to International Grinding and they replaced the urethane isolator. I requested for a harder/stiffer version since it had to be removed completely and reconditioned to accept the new urethane. So far it has been great. The plastic pivot cover pieces they use is the oem piece. As far as it being hard on syncros, the only difference I see is it slightly notchier like any other short shifter would be. This is expected because of the less amount of leverage you have on the short shifter. You can ruin the synchros just as fast with the stock shifter as you could with a short shifter. I think the notchier feel actually re-trains your shifting technique to be a little more precise plus you can feel when the shifter actually went into gear. As far as my synchros go,just my second gear one when cold has always been a problem even before the short shifter. Other than that the rest are always smooth sailing.

Thanks for the feedback. Another option is to just grind down the shifter 1/2 or so. This way you retain the OEM price but have less travel.
