Default front end clunk and wheel dragging metal sound?

Hello S2ki!

Alright, I have been trying to track down 2 noises that are coming out of my front end and it is driving me nuts.
I just wanted to get a second opinion, so here it goes.

My front end developed a clunking like sound that would happen when i go over bumps or when i suddenly come to a stop. I went on and did the following things.

Sound # 1

1. Checked my swaybar end-links, replaced them. Fail
2. Checked both my control arm bushings and everything is torqued to spec. Fail
3. Tried to re grease all of my bushings to see if the sound would go away? Fail
4. Checked all the bolts on my sub frame to see if something is loose... Fail
5. Checked all the bolts on my coilovers and even double checked the preload.. Fail

Sound # 2

When I drive off I hear this metal like dragging sound coming from my driver side wheel, when i was doing my end links I didn't see anything unusual.

I'm sure you guys have experienced this at some point so I am just trying to get a second opinion.

Thanks!

Is your brake rotor dust shield dragging on the rotor?

How are your wheel bearings? Tie rods? Ball joints?

Curious as well. Just had two loud clunks from driver front going over a speed bump.

Check your ball joints. They are under constant tension and not easy to check by hand. Have had 3 cars with similar issue and replacing the ball joints solved the problem. How many miles on the car?

My car sits at 97k miles. I tried to move the wheel up and down with no sound, but when I move it side to side I can hear all sorts of scary sounds, that means its the tie rod? correct?

I found the metal dragging sound and I really don't know how to explain but i would try my best.

When I grab my wheel and I spin it I can replicate the sound, but when I grab onto the wheel and do 90 degree turns I can feel something rolling around inside the tire?? Sounds weird but that's what I found..

The stuff rolling around inside the tire is normal. Its rubber dust that collects into ball shapes. Happens all the time.

Thats not likely your sound...unless the sound you're hearing is extremely faint.

Did you check the brake rotor dust shield?

I did, It doesn't seem like its bent or it has any signs of damage.
