I was seeing 140C (285F) at a hpde at Mosport in Canada with stock heat exchanger. On almost every session. So yes, oil in a stock motor at a hpde can get hot. If you don't have a gauge, you have no idea how hot the engine oil is. Nothing flashes and the car didn't blow up.

Are these higher temps in the 285s AP1s?

Sounds right. I see right at 240F measured in the pan and oil cooler line with an oil cooler.
As Ian is saying, it takes a few laps to get up to that temp and stabilizes, so a 2-3 lap TT car would probably never see over 260F as a wild guess. In traffic temps go up, probably closer to replicating racing conditions and air flow. A cool down lap cools the oil significantly, usually by the end of a long cool down lap I'm back to the 200F thermostat temp.

AP2 with the limiter set at 8500/8300 depending how much I care that day to swap tunes. Sits on the limiter a few times a lap.

FWIW couple years back I got to knock out some laps in a C5 Z06 at sebring. Had upgraded oil cooler and upgraded radiator. 3 laps I saw 303f oil temp on the dash and the water temps were wondering past half way.

Here's oil pressure with the Jackson Racing dual oil cooler @3,000 rpm. 390 kPa. Spec is 590 kPa.

Attachment 158186

Here's my current setup with the JR oil cooler disconnected and Sakebombgarage's external Setrab oil cooler installed. 590 kPa @3,000 rpm. Bang on spec.

Wow 30 psi pressure drop thats insane. This is pretty damn conclusive considering its back to back on the exact same car. Glad to hear you replaced the Jackson Racing parts before your motor went boom.
