07 Acura TL type-s
I happed to see a brand new Acura TL Type-s in that so sweet Laguna Blue color with dark wheels.
Yes well anyways. I noticed it has nice beefy 13" + brakes with nice 4+ pot calipers. Any chance we could use gank them and use them on an s2000 with ap2 wheels? or at all?
Also just for conversations sake. Does the 286hp TL engine turn in the same direction as our f20/22? That motor would make one hell of a sick n/a motor swap.

I really like these. We use to have a CL Type S a few years ago and I really liked that car.

Motor is too heavy.
If you searched, I tried this.
What i found out is that even if we were able to put 10 piston calipers it wouldn't shorten the braking distance.
The only thing it would help out is brake fade and brake temps, which are easily solved by having brake ducts fitted, better pads, and stronger/better designed rotors to resist warpage/temp.
There is enough pad surface area and caliper bite to stop this car.
Doing the Type-S brake swap is purely for looks and not worth the trouble.
Plus you'll have to run a bias adjuster.
If you want a big brake kit go with the ones already offered out of box, including the group buy which is currently on for the Wilwood set. The wilwood setup saves unsprung weight as do most of the setups.

I am planning on doing a turbo. So a brake upgrade would certainly be a good upgrade.
Yes the stock brakes are good. But my question has nothing to do with IF the stock brakes are sufficent. I wanted to know if the TL brakes would fit.
Sure the motor is heavy. How much does it weigh compared to the F20? Do you even know? Or are you simply assuming?
Comon guys think outside of the box.

"Doing the Type-S brake swap is purely for looks and not worth the trouble." < this pretty much means it requires considerable work to fit. Everything needs to be altered. Even need aftermarket rims.
Again, if you did the swap it would not perform better in any way even if you did turbo. Now if your going to be tracking the car WITH the turbo SURE!!! Go for the big brake kit.
Check out the link below. Braking feet did marginaly better, BUT check out the lower braking temps! Now thats cool, literally.
So think about it, if your going to be tracking the car and just abusing things, big brake kits make sense. Not just temp, but unsprung weight too. If your not, then it's almost like bling. Which is fine. I like bling too. Just not ready to spend bling money. :-D

The brakes are fantastic on the S2000 as is.
