Can our throttle cable get looser over time?
I noticed its kinda loose and my gas pedal feels its needs to be pushed down a little more than usual to get gas. Or do our throttle cables always stay the same and is this just in my head? It just seems my car's reaction time could be better, ya know?

For some reason, my throttle cable does not have anymore adjustment left
It's been like that since the beginning. Right now, it is adjusted as firm as it will go, and is ok.
One of these days, I'm gonna have to get in there, (under the dash) remove the cable and figure out a way to shim it at the throttle pedal.

My cable ran out of adjustment when the car was a year old! Otherwise the cable is OK.
The peddle had too much play for heal+toe changes so:-
I used a hard felt washer 7mm thick under the end of the cable, between the alloy end and the rubber spacer/shock absorber thing.
A Dremel felt polishing wheel was perfect for the job. I cut it with a sharp knife through to the centre hole then pushed it onto the cable. Fixed a small cable tie around it to hold it in place.
This made the adjustment at the other end of the cable possible, with both nuts on the threaded portion of the cable.
Made a fantastic difference, I hope the above is of use to others who have a similar problem.
