Hi All,

I apparently have an oil leak that seems to be coming from one of the bolts located on top of the vtec solenoid. To be precise there are 3 bolts that are mounted on top of the vtec solenoid and it is the 1 pointed outward in the same direction as the vtec pressure switch. After unscrewing all 3 bolts and removing the top cover of the vtec solenoid there is a rubber gasket, I went to the dealership assuming that I would be able to order it but the only gasket available is the one with the filter :banghead:. If any knows where I can order the gasket as shown in the diagram below or what I could possibly do to stop the oil leak please chime in.

TIA,
Tony

I had the same exact problem and ended up ordering the gasket with filter from the Honda dealership. I couldn't find just the gasket either.

This one?

The one that I need is the "upper" gasket like the one shown in the 1st pic and not the one w/ the filter that goes between the vtec solenoid and the block, and from what it looks like I wasn't able to find the part number for it :(

That's a different gasket. The solinoid assembly has two halves and there is a gasket that isn't listed for the S. It's number 17 in the link I posted, and looks exactly like the one the OP posted.

It's not the best picture, but everything sure does look similar. Good catch s2000ellier.

EDIT: Don't buy this. It doesn't fit. It's the wrong one. :(

This? $10 shipped, or order at the dealer and wait a few days. I'm guessing it's on backorder.

Did you try to return the wrong gasket to the dealer? I haven't called my dealer yet. I doubt if they would take it back.

Having the same problem :( Going to the dealership to see if they have the base gasket in stock. If not looks like I'll have to order it. $7 shipping, $5 handling charge? For a part that cost around $5 :ponder:

Yea, they took it back. It turned out that I didn't even need it. I needed the one with the screen/filter.

Well seems you can't get this part. 36172-P08-15 is NOT the right part. Look's like I'll have to Hondabond it.
