DIY Fixing the AP2 Center Console Cup holder
I had this pop up holder broken on my car for a while and i really needed to fix it as my coffee kept moving around. I know most of us dont use this to hold drinks but on those certain occasions, it does come in handy.
Starting off you need to make sure that the two holes on either side of the divider are still there and not broken. Next you want to check to make sure the holder to hold it down is still there otherwise it wont stay down. It will still remain up which is fine for me.

Step one make sure you order the part which includes the divider and the spring as they seem to know we will need it. PN 77231-S2A-A52ZA. Once you have the part start by putting the spring into the divider like shown so that the spring will sit like shown.

ok now its time to remove the center console. There are may write ups for this but pretty much you remove the shift knob and pull up on the edges of the center console until it pops out. Next you unplug the switches and remove. Good time to grease the shifter if you like and to adjust the brake.
What i did was remove the actual cup holder from the console by removing a few screws so i had more room to work with but unnecessary.
Now comes the tricky part. The divider is slipped in from the back and pops into the two holes on the side. What you need to do is bend the spring so that it is under tension kind of like a clothes pin. Once you slip it in you can release the pin. It was tricky at first but i think you can figure it out. I didnt try it but i think you can use some scotch tape to hold it back and push it in. Someone try it and see if it works.

Once you put it in you should be able to slightly align the spring again so that it sits in the groove.
Reassemble and enjoy your working cup holder again
