Exhaust’d once more…

Exhaust’d once more…Yesterday, March 26th, marked the date of the 4th annual Spugen BBQ known affectionately as “Exhaust’d 4.” This is one of the premiere S2000 gatherings anywhere in the world, and there were literally hundreds of S2k enthusiasts in attendance from all over the world. This was also perhaps the largest congregation of S2000s ever assembled including some eye-popping garage queens who have graced the pages of tuner mags all around the globe.

It’s also a great family event, and a number of those present represented several different generations of the same family. It’s great to see that the enthusiasm for our car spans all ages, and how well all the generations have bridged any gaps with their mutual love and admiration for the S2k and this great group of people who gather through S2ki.

The event began with an extended cruise that covered part of the Long Beach Grand Prix course and took off through some of Southern California’s most beautiful scenery. After the drive, it was back to HQ to continue the festivities. In years past, this was held at the Spugen shop, but as the event has grown to such huge proportions over time, this year the location had to be moved to a nearby industrial park to insure adequate room for the overwhelming turnout.

As always, there was lots of free food, a number of vendor booths, some of the most gorgeous S2000s on the planet, and a huge raffle with lots and lots of terrific prizes including complete exhaust systems, a carbon fiber hood, and lots of other valuable S2000 goodies. Duc, Greg, and Ricardo always pull out all the stops to insure a great event, and this year was no exception. It was a chance for old friends to visit with one another while making lots of new friends as well.

Some of the more exceptional cars in attendance were Ernie’s (Spoon Us) Imola beauty with ITBs, Anthony’s (Lil’ Ant) incredible carbon fiber clad wide-body, Albert’s (Aplus S2000) blue and yellow stunner and the RSR drift car. Here’s a link to a thread with lots of photos of the event, the drive, and many of the cars in attendance.
