Well..it's a bit disappointing that a lot of shops in the specific area (as anywhere in Greece) have closed due to "crisis".. A couple years ago, you would be able to see more people walking around. On the other hand, Glyfada is one of the places that haven't been directly affected as the center of Athens, for example. Places such Glyfada are Vouliagmeni, which is really close to glyfada and you definately should visit in a weekend's noon, Kolonaki near Syntagma square (better at night-you can use Tram-railway for cheaper transportation), Plaka in the afternoon (the area around Acropolis)..etc..
After you visit all these places, please tell us if media in your country tell any truth about us...
