your timing map is way to retarded.

and timing map should be something like this

This is an example only to show you how timing should progress RPM VS Load
this map is excessively retarded but this will give you an idea.

I am only going with average of .43 deg of retard per pound of boost.

as RPMs go up Actual timing should move toward more advance (less retard)
As load increases Actual timing should move to more retard (more retard)

------> increases timing

Neptuner I will send you my timing map after I get off of the dyno tomorrow.

Mark -What do you mean calling my timing retarded? (Just kidding)

This is the same timing map I got from William 5 months ago and have been running the whole time. The map William is currently running is very similar to mine except about 3 degrees less retard at max boost& rpm. Do you think the timing caused this CEL? Does not seem likely to me.

I do not have an OBDII reader that can read the fuel trims. I used the lag setting that William used.

Chris - I don't think my car will make it any where right now. I do not have a fuel pressure gage installed.

hahaha, I thought he was seriously calling it retarded at first. I'm on the bandwagon thinking that your AFR is probably too rich and either 1) you have fouled a plug or 2) you will foul one soon

The plugs may be fouled as a result of the low (too rich) AFR.

I think the primary question is why the non-boost AFR dropped. Possible reasons I can think of:

1. OEM narrowband O2 sensor gone bad.
2. Ultimate is screwing up and is lowering the AFR directly. When logging the 5th injector duty cycle in the past, sometimes the graph shows the 5th injector is being activated even when it is not mapped to. When this happens the AFR stays normal which indicates the 5th injector is not actually turned on. I have considered this to be a stray voltage. Maybe this stray voltage is now causing the 5th injector to operate when it is not supposed to be on.
3. Ultimate is screwing up and is confusing the OEM ECU so that it lowers the AFR. There have been several posts about Ultimates having problems that cause misfire and other erratic behavior.
4. An injector is staying open (don't know if this is possible).
5. Fuel pressure at rail is too high for some reason.

Tried to crank the car, but it would not start. It did not want to turn over.

Reset the ECU, disconnected the 5th injector wire and then it cranked but was running rough. AFR started around 14.7 then began to drop and car started running even rougher. CEL started flashing and I started smelling gas. I cut the ignition and looked at the engine but saw no gas. I looked under the car and it was dripping gas from the exhaust test pipe.

Right now I don't have a clue and I hope I don't blow up my car.

I pulled the plugs. They were all sootier than normal. No.1 plug was wet with gas.

yep, you aren't burning enough gas (oh god, that sounds terrible with gas prices the way they are). more air, advance timing, misfires should go away. I would check for damage though because the CEL only blinks when something has gone very VERY awry.

Just got back from Neptuners.

It looks like one of his primary injectors is staying on all the time, either mechanically or there is a short in the e-manage harness.

Fuel was filling the #1 cylinder and dripping from the test pipe.

Thanks a ton for the help Chris. It's scary to me when there is so much fuel in the cylinders that the engine won't even turn over. I hope there has been no permanent damage.

I removed the 550 injectors and re-installed the OEM injectors. None of the 550s looked to be stuck open as far as I can tell. I disconnected the Ultimate and hooked up the OEM ECU. Checked the wiring harness for bare wires but found no problems. Pulled the plugs again, turned the engine over to get some of the fuel out of the cylinders.

I am quitting for today and will try to crank it up tomorrow. With the OEM injectors and ECU, hopefully it will run normally. If it does I will try the Ultimate to see if it works too.
