Default Maintenance Required light

Hey fellas,

Have about 14,500 miles and the "Maintenance Requ'd" light flashes for a few seconds after starting the car. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think it is just a reminder for maintenance based on the odometer.

You should find some more info in that link. There is also a useful link to other DIY articles in that thread as well.

Also in case that procedure doesn't work, it is covered in the owners manual under reseting the maintenance required light too.

It's just a reminder Ray, it looks like it worked too. Time to get the oil changed and everything looked at.

Thanks Chris. I just changed the oil. I have never changed the diff fluid. I bought the car with 9,000 on it so I don't know what was done before it got to me but probably nothing. Should I go ahead and change the diff fluid?

It wouldn't hurt to do the Diff fluid. The 1st fluid change on the diff usually hasd pretty contaminated oil from break in. I changed mine at 12k.
