OK, this is no joke! Today our little run ended in a bad afternoon.
Andy and I started out on the old Rocket City Run route today. I must mention that I almost said it was too hot to get out, but I didn't. So we get to Guntersville, and start down the back side of the mountain to the state park. On a side note, we had been keeping it slow all day. Anyways, back to the story. We started down the hill, and into the 3rd turn. I was going a little too fast, but not crazy. Something ran out in front of me, and I got scared and hit the brakes. When I did the car was in some gravel, and the ass end shot around on me. I thought I had saved it, but the grade of the road pushed me on into the guard rail. The car immediately died, and I was facing towards Andy. He asked if I was ok, and I told him yes. Then I noticed the string of cars coming towards me. So I started it and whipped back behind Andy. The car did shift well and it was shuddering, not to mention the check engine light was on. We coasted down the hill and pulled of to access the damage. My front passanger bumper, front and rear quarter panel, bumper, and hood had damge. We then coasted down the rest of the hill to the park ranger station to call the police. They came and did a police report, and 2 hours later the tow truck showed. There is more I want to post, but I have family in town right now. Hopefully Andy will post the pictures he took with his phone soon.
Than insult to injure is my Barber tickets came in the mail today, and I will have no S for the race!! At least I unharmed.

The car is in the shop, so we will find out about the damages soon enough. BUT something is bothering me about Rob's car. After the crash the map sensor was loose. The car wasn't idling good at all. I thought I had solved it when I checked and found the Map problem. However the car still idles rough. What else could be causing the rough idle?
Also, and this worries me a bit, The air intake was pushed up into the strut bar. When it pushed up the plug was pulled out of the map sensor. As it sits now the intake tube is squished into the strut bar. There was just a little fluid leaking from somewhere, but we could never locate the source.
Rob, I'm working on getting you the pics.
