Want to join the New Allegheny Club

Well with the unexpected departure of RevRun the club has been dead. So I decided it's time to make a go of it and get this club moving forward. I know there are quite a few S2000 around the area. I would like all S2000 owners who want to join our little group to post to this thread. I will track all the owners and make arrangements to get a group of directors together to plan outings and events. I know it will soon be time to park our beloved cars soon, however, it will make for some great planning weather. I've also designed a new club badge. Let me know what you think.

Hi Jim-

The badge looks great... just one comment: Once the badge is reduced in size to add to member sigs, all the small "detail" may get lost. Take a look at some of the other club badges and you'll see what I mean. Good luck with the New Club endeavor :eek2:

(Got your PM and will reply in the next day or two... just got back in town from the dry run for the MD-PA Border drive next Sunday... it will be a great tour of the twisties in Fulton and Franklin Counties... even a tip of Bedford Co at the start :D)

Is this the final badge? are you sure?, lol.
Anyway, should i change the graphic on the card? or should i leave the full pic on it?
Beeing as though your the community organizer, i figure all decsions on the club should be your choice, let me know.....

PAS2KNut 09-17-2002 03:08 AM

Leave the business card alone. I only changed it for clarity. It was hard to read the last badge when you made it 81X31 pixels.

Please count me in...

Also, it looks like some discussion is going in another forum regarding a trip to Beaverun the weekend of October 19th, if anyone's interested...

RandyP 10-09-2002 01:38 PM

Count me in. Also, consider setting up a Dyno day at http://www.speednation.com/dynoday.htm

I've considered having my car dynoed, but it would be more fun to have several S2000 cars for comparison.

Just curious...
I bought, and am from the steel City area (born/raised in Wexford), but currently live just inside Maryland, south of York, PA. This upcoming season, my wife and I anticipate driving the 'S' up to the burgh to visit family. I know I will not be around often, but I'd like to stay informed of your gatherings and events (especially the vintage Grand Prix) so that I might swing by if I'm in town that weekend.

Thank You for your time.

fedler 01-22-2003 11:39 AM

Add me in to the club.
If you need my email its fedler100@yahoo.com

Sbeall 05-02-2003 04:54 AM

I'll join.

I live in NJ now and will also join the Del Val club, but will be getting back there from time to time and would like to know of anything going on when I'm in town, I'll be heading back for the May 16th weekend and Fouth of July weekend as of now.

I Want to take a drive through the Laurel Highland/Ohio Pile area while I'm there, although I know of a lot of good roads in the Mon-Valley area from which I'm from.

I'm picking up a Spa '01 in a couple days. So if anyone sees one with Jersey plates on it in the area during these weekends, that's me.

Anita Parker 05-02-2003 04:32 PM

Welcome to the group.....I think that everyone is still pretty much in hibernation here! But I agree, I've made the trip up Rt. 40 to Ohiopyle and on to Deep Creek lots of times....it's great!

I'm from the Mon Valley too and there are great roads everywhere. A few weeks ago we made it all the way to Wheeling without hitting an interstate...and this past Sunday drove up to the Grove City outlets by getting off 79N at Evans City!

Sbeall you've been added to the list. Welcome and hope you can make the PA/MD Drive.

Sbeall 05-06-2003 09:11 AM

Sorry, I'll be heading back on the 19th. I just picked up the car last night so I'm sic'd! It kinda sucked tho' because I had to drive it down from North Jersey in the rain. Nothing more depressing than the NJ Turnpike in the rain.

Anita, I haven't been to the Grove City / Sharon, PA area in a long time, but I can imagine there are some good, less traveled roads up there too. I actually used to date a girl from Clairton.

Ruined 2 05-07-2003 06:46 AM

I've been slobbering over the S since I first drove one in '00, and I just picked one up. So I would love to be in the club. Let me know what's going on and what you need from me. Thanks.

PAS2KNut 05-07-2003 07:49 AM

Congratulations and welcome! I live just up the road from you in Penn Township. We will have to get together and go for a drive. Check out the PA/MD drive on May 18. I'm one of the group leaders for that drive and would love to have you join us. It's a great road that allows the awesome characteristics of the S to be maximized. Here is a link to the thread PA/MD Drive We could meet at the turnpike and you could follow me down to the starting point of the drive.

I will add you to the list tonight when I get home.

Ruined 2 05-07-2003 08:37 AM

I'm in on the drive as far as I know right now. Email me @ ram67ps@choiceone.com with suggestions on plans to meet up. Thanks again.

I'm sooooo disappointed to miss this drive on the 18th, but we're busy doing the "parent" thing with my daughter, who will be graduating on June 1. Please keep us informed of what else may be coming up....and....

do you have any idea how I change my name and/or info on here. Paul and I were married in January and my last name is now Parker. Worst part is that he actually thinks he should have more driving time in MY baby!!! LOL

Jim:

What a bummer. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hmmmm.....I can't remember the name because my insurance company arranged it. I think, though, it was somebody from around your parts...Rt. 30 somewhere.

They did a decent job, but they did it at Dean Honda because I had the car there for inspection. The service guy at Dean said that they had a hard time. I did notice a small scratch at one corner, but it's not bad and I figure it would be my word against theirs. Most people don't understand that I know EVERY mark on that car!!!

The guys at Honda Village know that I know EVERY mark on my car!!! I'm going to call Diamond and Terry auto glass. My service advisor at Honda Village said that is who they use. I just need to do some research on this site to see what the best glass is OEM or aftermarket. Talk to you soon.

Jim:

Thanks for getting back to me as a new owner of a spa yellow pearl S-2000. Certainly, my bride and are eager to become active in the Allegheny S2000 Owners Club. Please let us know of all events planned and/or proposed. Really anxious to see if something can be arranged for Beaver Run.

Had been contemplating a S2000 since their introduction. Drove a friend's of mine last summer and finally bit the bullet.

We live in FoxCroft Village, off Ferguson Road, about a 3 wood from Duncan Manor Shopping Plaza. Home Phone 412-369-4565, Cell is 412-287-6746.

Any other members reside in the North Hills? Where do you call home?

This site is amazing...fumbling around trying to understand all that it has to offer. Hints would be appreciated.

Ron (Sizzle) Willis

:drive: :drive:

PAS2KNut 05-11-2003 03:38 AM

Welcome Ron great to see you on the board. We are going to have to talk to the folks at Beaver Run. I heard from a guy at the OBX run that they now have a roll cage requirement to drive on the track. I don't know if that is true or not. If you could find out for me that would be great. I definitely think we could get a great turn out for an event there.

You should try and make the PA/MD Border Drive next Sunday May 18. Myself and Ruined 2 are going to make the drive we would love to have you join us. Here is a link to sign up for the drive: PA/MD Border Drive If you could join us let me know.

Here is a link to another drive I will be doing and would like to have a few members for Allegheny to join me! Ohio Route 26 Drive

Ron I've also added you to my buddy list so I can PM you events and information as needed.

I'm doing the Ohio Rt.26 run. I'll be leaving from home (Youngstown) to make the trip. Last year I met up with the group from Cleveland and drove down Rt 70. Give me some idea of when you plan to go, and what routs you have planned. Just might join in with your group this year.

Jim,

Please remove the club badge from my sig. All this bs about sigs and avatars has me all upset. I don't want anything on my posts other than what I write. I would still like to be a member however if possible, just without the badge. Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Currently stationed in Seoul, Korea in the Army...I recently found out I am headed to Pittsburgh to work with the Reserve unit in Oakdale. Don't have an S2K yet (been living in Korea since June 99!) but it will be at the top of my "to do" list when I get back to the US this September. I would like to join the local club, if it's possible to do so without being an owner first...my e-mail is drw1926@yahoo.com. BTW I am leaning towards GP White w/ tan interior, which has been scientifically proven to be the fastest colour (just ask Wantone    ). Looking forward to meeting everyone once I'm on the ground there in September. Thanks!

Greg

PAS2KNut 02-09-2004 04:04 PM

Hi Greg,

Welcome to the Allegheny Community. When it comes time to get your S let Hardtopguy at Ganley Honda in Cleveland he is a board sponsor. No one in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area will meet or beat there price. I just bought a CRV for my wife and no one would touch the price. Welcome and look forward to meeting you when you get back stateside!

You are offical now and sporting the new club badge enjoy!

Jim

drw1926 02-14-2004 07:34 AM

I have Hardtopguy's website bookmarked on my computer, but I never realized he was located in Cleveland. That actually works out great...I was planning on getting my hardtop through him once I had my S2K! Thanks for mentioning that. BTW, how are the local dealerships when it comes time for service/maintenance issues? Any places to avoid or recommend? (I am assuming you don't take it back to Ganley for service!) ;)

Thanks again, see you all in September... :hello:

Well, let's see if I qualify. I was born in and spent the first 24 years of my life in Titusville, PA except for some time in the Navy. Been all over the US and much of the world. Now retired and living in Florida near Pensacola. Still keep in touch with my friends in T'ville.

That's a lot for a Titusville kid. Wonder if there are any S2000's near there.

Jim,
Thank you and yes, come and enjoy the twisty roads - BUT! one small word of caution, - the local police in Brookville make more money per capita than any other town in the US - they fully fund three patrol cars and six officers for a town of 4000 people off a small strech of Rt36. Thanks again, and I hope to see you all Fall Colors.
