Rural and Baseline at Starbucks at 10AM?

any suggestions? I still like the stapley/us60 lot...

Let's make it Rural and Baseline. I talked to Gloffer, who is going to be guiding the Irvine folks into town, and we are set on that location.

I'll try and stop by to say "hi" if my car is done on time...
Otherwise, have a great trip!

Trip report to follow.

The short version: don't trust the weather forecasts, S2000s actually do great in the snow and sleet, don't believe women who let you buy them drinks all night and then announce that they are actually married, and beware Satan's sandwiches.

Oh, and don't schedule mountain drives for early April.

Those roads were very slippery during the snow in. Thank god you guys were careful and did not VTEC. Slush and black ice was what I came across on the drive down. I too made it back in one piece.

Scary drive for me. A lot of firsts:

First time in top up
First time in the rain
First time in the snow
First, second and third cracks in my front windshield
First time getting my hood and bumper chewed up by rocks - taking it in to get touched up this week.

I washed my car and I have a lot of cuts, chips and scratches in the bumper and hood from the rocks that washed into the road. AND I was pretty far back from most of the other cars...

I had a fun time and awesome curvy roads that pumped up the adrenaline. Greer and Cattle Kate's was cool. Looking forward to a shorter drive on better roads next time.

Photos were posted to S2000arizona.com and my site.

Great to meet Tan & Helen and Mike & Anna and to see Brad again! I hope to drive with you guys in better conditions in the future!

Great drive!!

Learned a lot of technical driving thanks to Tanq and Gloffer.

Glad to meet the Irvine guys, great to hang out with you all!!

I am with walkabt.....my car is only 3 months old and got beat to hell this weekend....nothing that a paintpen didn't fix, but it still feels like a sandblaster hit the front of my car....oh well, knew that would happen on an aggressive drive (need to start saving for the front bumper painting)...

you should see my headlight housings......man....another $900 unless you guys know someone who can buff them out....

and the cracked windshield.....

poor baby..

but the variety of driving conditions, hard cornering, and great company were all worth any little bit of damage to the front end...

Can't wait for the next one!!

JJ

P.S. Gloffer is the smart one with that bra on his car!!
