CLUTCH BUZZ
When I said TSB0054, I was assuming that maybe his clutch wasn't actually bad and only buzzing and that maybe they would honor it (if it hadn't already been done) since the TSB does not involve replacing the entire clutch.
I whole-heartedly agree that the clutch is a wear item and there shouldn't be an expectation for free replacement...

Actually the clutch has always been like this since I bought it 2 years ago with 19000 miles on it. And I have 43,000 miles on my car now. I've asked dealerships here in Tucson about it in the past and they said there was never a bulletin on it.

Since we are on the subject, I am having a BAD buzz during hard acceleration. It sounds like the normal decel buzz on steroids. It is LOUD and very noticable in the cabin.
Hoping I don't need to have my clutch replaced
. I need to get it checked out but no one will look at problems like this on Saturday. There is no way I can make an appointment at a dealership during the week days.

I would say to stop by around 2pm; I work tomorrow. I should have a free moment to go for a quick drive. This way I can see if it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

The car is 6 years old regardless of how many miles are on it. The bulletin 00-054 is used as a reference and no longer for warranty repairs. The noise is caused by gear backlash in the transmission that is normal and sometimes audible. When the engine pulses during deceleration; it causes the transmission gears to "excite" (vibrate). Causing the gears to buzz or rattle. It will not damage anything it will just cause the noise you are hearing. I would just replace the clutch if the noise is bothersome.

Since the answers have been given by the one who would know (soslow64 = Cesar) would you please close this thread down Paul so that we can use it as a reference in the future without it getting off topic.
This would be a good reference thread to keep on file in the forum.
