Maybe I could drive my bright yellow car into the service bay for Cesar to look at without the dealership noticing.

When I said TSB0054, I was assuming that maybe his clutch wasn't actually bad and only buzzing and that maybe they would honor it (if it hadn't already been done) since the TSB does not involve replacing the entire clutch.

I whole-heartedly agree that the clutch is a wear item and there shouldn't be an expectation for free replacement...

Was TSB 0055 the one that replaced the clutch then? I had two done at the same time.

Actually the clutch has always been like this since I bought it 2 years ago with 19000 miles on it. And I have 43,000 miles on my car now. I've asked dealerships here in Tucson about it in the past and they said there was never a bulletin on it.

Since we are on the subject, I am having a BAD buzz during hard acceleration. It sounds like the normal decel buzz on steroids. It is LOUD and very noticable in the cabin.

Hoping I don't need to have my clutch replaced . I need to get it checked out but no one will look at problems like this on Saturday. There is no way I can make an appointment at a dealership during the week days.
Ok, so here is a the dealeo. We try not to schedule that type of stuff because we are short 4 line tech's, 2 lube tech's, 2 advisor's, and we close at 4pm on saturday.
We are usually quite busy on Saturday's. If you would like me to take a drive. I would say to stop by around 2pm; I work tomorrow. I should have a free moment to go for a quick drive. This way I can see if it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Why did you put it in S2000 talk? Only AZ knows about Earnhardt's.

How many miles are on your S2000?
43,0xx miles

The car is 6 years old regardless of how many miles are on it. The bulletin 00-054 is used as a reference and no longer for warranty repairs. The noise is caused by gear backlash in the transmission that is normal and sometimes audible. When the engine pulses during deceleration; it causes the transmission gears to "excite" (vibrate). Causing the gears to buzz or rattle. It will not damage anything it will just cause the noise you are hearing. I would just replace the clutch if the noise is bothersome.

I know what the noise is and what it is caused by. I'm also aware that it won't cause any damage. I was just wondering about it getting replaced after so long. Thanks guys.

Since the answers have been given by the one who would know (soslow64 = Cesar) would you please close this thread down Paul so that we can use it as a reference in the future without it getting off topic.

This would be a good reference thread to keep on file in the forum.
