My favorite compliment was from some slack jawed yokel outside Autozone.

Him: Is that a Ferrari?
Me: Nope, it's a four cylinder Honda.

He just stared at it with the most dumbfounded look I've ever seen for the entire time I was in the store. As I got back in he was still staring at it from every angle. He jogged to the end of the sidewalk to keep watching the car as I drove away. Kind of like my first encounter with a real live S2000, except I knew exactly what it was. I clipped a median while staring at the S2000 pulling away from me. I think I got a semi.

I too have had a few people ask me what kind of car it is. I figured after 9 years of production people would know. Guess I was wrong

IDK mine looks pretty mean....

It's even better that I have the badges removed. People keep walking around it trying to figure out what it is. I can make up anything I want

A few years ago, my little nephew kept pointing out Miata's and saying "Look Uncle Dave, there's a car just like yours!"

It happens. It really IS a timeless car, though. My 2002 only has 23K on it so it is in good shape, and it still turns heads (after I wash it of course). I mostly enjoy the feeling of freedom and pure driving enjoyment it gives ME, not the onlookers.
