This is a great post. Honest and from the heart. You are a great person as well Cesar. Don't ever forget that!

We are all here to learn different things. I think that is the meaning of life. It is how many friends we make along the way and the kindness you show to them reveals our value as an individual.

AND I am blessed to know all of you. I know God is real(I have seen too many things to believe otherwise).....

I need a tissue!

I didn't know you call it your kindness. I thought you would be more cliche, like one eyed monster or trouser snake. Kindness sounds like it won't hurt you, like it's okay to touch it. "Let me show you my kindness" sounds a lot nicer than "bend over bitch."

Seriously though, I was raised Catholic and I do have faith in God. I do not attend church regularly any more. I believe in God, no question, I am just confused about religion itself and I really have no clue where to look for unbiased answers.

I think God loves you if you are a good person in your heart and love and help others, basically just do unto others...use your free will to help better His children in any way you can. The other stuff the church teaches you is where I get lost. It seems to me like man's idea of morality is thrown in and stated as the word of God. Like I said, I am confused.

omg, ahahhaha, i am speachless.

I think the movie stigmata did a really good job at ending the movie when it basically shot down the church ( thats not the good part ) the quote from the movie, which is probably from the bible ( correct me if im wrong )"The kingdom of God is within you and all around you. It is not within buildings of wood or stone. Split a piece of wood and you will find me. Look beneath a stone and I am there."

So, in a sence, no you dont need to go to church every sunday to show your faith, you can be like cesar and just pray (cesar never you were religious ahhah jk). We all have our own ways of showing or not showing our faith in our beliefs.

There is a God, I am living proof. I placed all my faith in God before that truck slammed into me at 70 MPH and I am fortunate enough to walk and will be able to drive my S again. Death is not for those who have died, death is for the living and develops compassion. I just don't believe in all the prejudices taught by the different churches, esp against the gays. I have many close friends/ co workers who are gay, and they are way more compassionate and kind than many of the so called Christians I know. I like to look a person from who they are within, i.e. their spirituality and faith, and most of all capacity to love, maintain hope, and be kind and try to be understanding to those who are different from themselves. I was raised Christian, but education has taught me the value of cultivating lasting friendships and the enrichment that comes with appreciating and loving the diversity God has created. Nice thread. Great club.
