I respect your opinion and I dont think its a bad one by any means. I just know what I have seen work and what I have seen work better. I am not a honda engineer or dont claim to be one. I know what I have seen and experienced, and I have used fluids that felt and held up better than MTF. Honda knows that their are a lot of oil manufactures out there. They know that some spend tons of money on developing their products and others dont. So to keep the consumer safe from buying crap and putting it in their transmission they market their own. They also profit off it by the fact that manufacturing conventional is cheaper then making a synthetic oil. They can make and sell conventional for more of a profit, then they could if they paid someone to manufacture and sell their synthetics.
So to the original ?. Use what feels best to you.
I'm not mad or arguing, I just know what works and doesn't work also. I never said it didn't work or that you couldn't run it. I just said it is not ideal, and its not. All the cars you are baseing your knowledge off of are cars that are daily driven ( you said at the dealership). I can guarantee that 10-30 in any car that see's track time/is driven hard is a bad idea. Especially in the AZ 110+ heat. Again do what you guys want it's your car.

There also is better fluids out there than Honda MTF, but they are not 10W-30 motor oil.

Also, to your statement about dino oil being cheaper to make thus having a higher profit margin I disagree with. Thats why synthetic cost more - to cover the extra cost to make it.

I know your not mad or arguing. Ive learned to read posts with a friendly tone. As far as the dealership goes, we werent your typical dealership. We didnt have a performance shop were we lived, we were it. We loved putting aftermarket parts oncustomers cars and trying different fluids. We had a really unique and friendly atmosphere closer to what you would find at SOS then any dealer around here. We would put mtf and recommend it for the dailies, but alot of people who drag raced their civics and rsx's(big where i lived) and people who scca'd there s2000s would use stuff other then MTF. I am using Royal Purple 5w30 in my tranny and it feels alot better then MTF ever did and thats at 6k miles. Every time I use MTF it felt good for a 1k miles then it would get notchy again. I still like synchro shift II from BG the best, ecspecially with the warranty and roadside assistance they give on their products.

Yeah I just wanted to clear that up as there are no emotions over the internet and things can be taken wrong. I have never ran 10w30 so I don't know how it feels, but I have had a lot of reliable sources tell me it's not ideal.
