Default Firing order and headers.

So I was reading this article on firing order and apparently the primaries need to be paired with the primaries and the secondaries paired for the greatest HP. Due to the difficulty in manufacturing headers like this the lengths are compromised.

1 to 4 and 2 to 3 (need to check this)...

That is a 4-2-1 header. It is not all too difficult to make an equal length header for the S.

Firing order is 1-3-4-2.

Do you have a linky to what you read?

*Edit-corrected firing order (forgot they fired 180 degrees apart).

Found it.....

Headers should be paired with primaries in sequential order 1 with 3 and 4 with 2. OE and other aftermarket headers pair primaries in non sequentially or 1 with 4 and 3 with 2. The sequential pairing of primaries is preferred for ultimate power within a tri-Y pattern, but becasue of the difficulties involved in the manufacturing process.....It is not done. - Honda Tuning...Skunk2 s2000 headers.

So.....the 4 to 1 has proven the most cost effective in the design. Viola less power.
