Nice choice Johnny, heard nothing but good stuff from STI drivers. We saw both cars at the auto show last year. The Evo had a 'decent' interior, but besides the bling-bling Recaros, I wasn't impressed. Still looked very cheap inside.

The STI looked quite nice inside. I don't get the whole no-stereo thing, but I guess they figure 90% of owners replace the stock system anyway, so why put one in. It's cool that they ran the harness, though.

Looking forward to some runs with you in the new ride.

P.S. THANK YOU for not getting those damned cheezy gold wheels. puke...

WOOOHOOOOO! STi rocks bro, hooptie hooptie. My wife won't let me have one but I think they are kickass cars and if you ever run out of gas or throw a rod it has a built on handle on the back to push it back to the pits. Congrats!

There were a couple of things I thought the STi had over the EVO

Better build quality/resale
better interior
cruise control
sounded better
more displacement
overall better daily driver

I like the radio delete to.

radio? who needs a radio? real race cars don't them. The evo does handle slightly better in stock form but there are a lot more suspension and engine upgraded avalable.

I saw this post and I'm like... WTF?? I had to go back and search through the forum to see if you posted anything about WHY you would get rid of your mighty S.

Good choice Johnny. That's one car I really wanted to get before I chose the S2k.

Yeah, I think I remember chanting "STi" when I was picking up the parts last week. If I were to buy a 4-door car tomorrow it would be it. As far as the stereo... yeah, I can help you out there. If there is no wiring in the car that is no big deal. I normally run new wire especially in the case of a system like yours, with the amp and Boston Pro's, because almost all stock sepeaker wiring is not up to the job sound quality wise (and yes, I have re-wired my S2k so if anyone needs help in that process, which can be a pain in the a**, let me know). As far as a dash harness for a deck already in the car, it is not big deal if it is there or not. Give me a call and we will work it out. Anyways, congrats on the new car. I see a S/C in my future because all these boosted cars have me thinking - and I have yet to ride in a S/C'd S2k so I am not completely hooked yet (I just ordered a hardtop so it is not in the immediate future... but within the next year).

so Im assuming if there is no radio, then there are no speakers? So you have to cut your doors and they just have wiring going into the doors? Thats kind of strange

Waterbug I believe the wiring harness is in place, and the speaker holes are cutout as well. It is set up for a clean install out of the box. The only reason you'd have for surgery is if you wanted larger speaks than the factory cutouts would allow.
