Default A Great Tech Day...

Many thanks to Dave for hosting Saturday's tech day in some great weather. I would also like to thank the people who helped me with the smoked JDM diffuser install, especially Rick, Will, and Dave. The headlights turned out great and no smoke was generated in the process.... whew!

Hey, a big thank you to all those at Tech Day who installed my new XM radio system and rear speakers!!! Especially James and Wil - audio technicians bar none. Watching Doc connecting all those wires looked a lot like surgery... hum?

I have already contacted Modifry about the defective DCI and told them I need a new one ASAP so my NW trip will be even better. Hope I can install it myself

Dave - your hospitality, garage, reservation making, and tour guide abilities were all fantastic. Little America was perfect too.

Driving home with all that sound was awesome... although the XM did lose signal in the top end of Oak Creek Canyon. Guess it was just too deep and narrow but I'm not complaining.

A great break from the heat and a super Tech Day - thanks to everybody!

Dave,

A great host as usual and no fire extinguisher needed this year.

Thanks,

Rick

Fast service from Bob at Modifry! Thanks again guys...

Lauren - sorry for the trouble with your DCI. Thanks for providing all the information in your first email, that will definitely speed things along. And thank your friends for quick thinking and swapping another DCI in place of yours, that pretty much eliminates any other issues or questions I might have.

I'll send the replacement unit out tomorrow and will send a confirmation email with the tracking number when it goes out.

Again, sorry for the problems with your first unit. When you get the new one and confirm it works, you can send the old one back via First Class mail - no need to rush it.

Bob

Got the replacement DCI today and "installed" it. Do those little pin settings on the back go all the way to the top and bottom or just move a little way?

The speed controlled volume seems to work fine, but the dash controls are a bit glitchy - mute doesn't work most of the time and the volume control lags badly, almost as if something isn't quite connected. Any ideas?

There is a slight delay in the volume controls. You get used to it. There is a setting on the back of the DCI for mute as well.

Check modifry's site for instructions on the DIP switches, and the mute settings, you may have to play with it a bit to get it to work. My switches go all the way up, but he may be making units with different switches since mine is 1 year old now.

Also check that the little "eye" is pulled out enough to point to the "XM" symbol on the right of your headunit. That is where the remote reciever is located, and if it is too far in, sometimes you don't get the signal out enough.

fiddle with it and see what you get!

Good luck
JJ
