I just heard about a friend of a friend in Phoenix had the same thing happen. He parked his S in the driveway next to his 3 series vert. Top cut, seats and steering wheel gone, BMW had top cut but nothing taken.

I would like to know what % of registered S2000's have been hit. It has to be the highest car specific crime rate ever given how few S2000's there are.

I will say again, anyone who parks their S2000 outside overnight is begging for trouble. Please keep your beloved S inside, for your own sake and the sake of our collective insurance rates. And if you are followed by anyone suspicious call the po po right away.

I bet there's about a dozen Civics in Mexico rollin around with seats in them worth four times as much as the rest of the car.

Also - if you think someone is following you, drive past your street or house and go park in someone elses driveway until they leave.

Intersting story - on my drive over the Dragon meet I got into Abilene, TX at around 10PM. I stopped for gas prior to looking for a hotel. There were a bunch of civic and integra boys sitting near the gas station that felt compelled to come over and check out my car. When I left the gas station heading for the hotel I noticed two of the cars following me. I parked and went in the lobby, started thinking about it, walked back out got in the car and headed for a hotel on the far end of town. Even though I had the hard-top on and an alarm, I did not want risk someone trying to break in, steal the wheels, etc..

... Yeah... near totally off subject...
But I have seen some real junkers rolling on our streets with all bling, but no performance. For example... the last dude I saw had about 2k of wheels and tires, but his ride was bouncing like crazy because he didn't put forth 40 dollars for shocks.

... Let's not be hatin'.
Let's find out why our Ss are being ripped, and learn how to avoid being ripped.
The track road course is the equalizer. I've met some fine Miata drivers... In fact, the best driving instruction I've ever had was from a Miata champion - who taught me momentum. It worked!
As far as ripping off... Put the S inside and don't allow it to be stalked.
