Just a short review for those who are interested.

Excellent visuals, all the scenes are very dramatic and crisp. Lots and lots of detail. Some pretty big holes in the plot, which is surprising because it's not that complicated.

I'm just biased because I loved the video game so much, but aside from the plot holes and glaringly obvious 'twists', its a good storyline. The acting is actually pretty good, even if MarkyMark does just have one look on his face the entire movie! lol

Oh and the sound!! I saw it at the Cine Capri at Tempe Marketplace, and the sound fx were awesome. Not quite in the same league with say, The Dark Knight, but the gunfire and explosions are full and satisfying haha.

All in all, worth the price of admission, I'd say. But that's just me.

Christine and I watched it last night. Thought it was really well done. Agree that there were some plot holes, but other than that - great movie. Very true to the game (including bullet time...lol)

 

I never actually played max payne 2. I really dont even remember much about max payne 1. I played it like 7 years ago when it came out. I really didnt see any connections between the movie and the game. I only really remembered whole story about the wife and child.Was a lot of the movie from max payne 2?

 

a customer went and saw it friday while were were working on his car. he mentioned not to see it. guess he wasn't impressed with poor plot design.

 

I watched it yesterday. I thought it was worth the time and money. it was definitely entertaining. My GF on the other hand hated it and was pissy the rest of the day. then again certain movies really get to her for some reason. like zodiac...I thought that movie was kick ass but it made her all upset and shit.

I'd say go see it to anyone that hasn't yet. worth at least the time to admire some kool eye candy!
