One thing you should know...what 150 will buy you in Little Rock is what 300 will buy you in a safe neighborhood Phoenix burbs and what 600 will buy you in Scottsdale. Get ready for a great place that is so unlike Lil Rock you'll be amazed. The only thing I've seen in Phoenix that reminded me or Arkansas was the WT.

No, I'm a resident now at UAMS but only a "preliminary" resident. That basically means that my contract needs to be renewed every year. The job in Phoenix is for a "categorical" position. It's far more secure because it's a contract for the entire duration of my residency. It's a significant improvement and a move that every preliminary resident is gunning for.

 

You can get a good starter home for around $200. After all, it's an investment and just a beginning. There are a lot of nice neighborhoods all over the valley. Traffic is main consideration and drive time. Your hrs are going to be screwy anyway, so you may miss some of the jams, esp if you start w/ early AM cases.
