Sup everyone, i recently got orders to Nellis AFB (be heading out in Oct.) and i'm pretty excited. I'll be coming from Texas so the heat thing i got covered, lol. But i was just curious about how is there. My wife and i are looking to get/rent a house and i was wondering if ya'll knew some decent locations to look at. Looking forward to hooking up with some fellow S2k folks while i am there aswell. Thanks guys!

 

You will miss Texas.... I love it down there. People are so much more friendly.


As for areas, you are best off looking at what you like. Some people like certain areas out here, while others don't like those areas.

I just moved (PCS) here a couple months ago, I found a nice house in North Las Vegas in an area called Aliante. It's right off of 215 and takes me about 20 minutes to drive to Nellis in the morning. I found it on RentClicks.com, you just put in what size house your looking for and how much you want to spend. After I found a house I liked the looks of I went to MSN, local live to look at aerial photos of the area, only one problem, some areas are so new they aren't on the map yet. One sugestion if your trying to stay close to Nellis make sure you go north of Craig Rd and west of I 15, any closer than that and you get into some bad areas

Hey what's going on, I PCS'd out here about 10 months ago, and I love it (I came from texas too). There's actually stuff to do here (Granted I lived in West Texas).

I live way on the west side of town b/c my squadron is supposed to be heading up creech soon, but I'm at nellis now. The traffic SUCKS, the drivers are generally horrible, but other than that I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather do.

What do you do in the AF?
